Federal informant missing after reportedly handing over several secret Deutsche Bank files, found dead

A well-known federal informant and whistleblower who went missing after handing over a bunch of secret files about Deutsche Bank was found dead at a Los Angeles school this week, a police official said Wednesday, writes nbcnews.com .

The body of 46-year-old Valentin Broeksmit was found Monday at Woodrow Wilson High School shortly before 7 a.m., Sgt. Rudy Perez of the Los Angeles School Police Department said in an email.

Los Angeles County coroner’s records do not indicate a cause of death. The bureau postponed a preliminary finding to allow further examinations and toxicological tests, according to records released Thursday.

A final report from the coroner is not expected until the summer.

Los Angeles Police Chief Kenneth Cabrera told the Los Angeles Times that authorities do not suspect a wrong game.

Broeksmit was last seen behind the wheel of a red Mini Cooper on the afternoon of April 6, 2021, on Riverside Drive and was later reported missing by relatives, Los Angeles police said.

His vehicle was found, the department said, but Broeksmit was reported missing.
