The Kyiv government has proposed to the Putin regime to hold the next round of talks in Mariupol, right near the Azovstal plant.
UPDATE 14.00 Civilians trapped in the Azovstal plant could be evacuated on Monday, April 25.
The announcement of the proposed negotiations in Mariupol was made by Oleksii Arestovici, an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky. Two months after the start of the war, negotiations between Russia and Ukraine have not yielded significant results.
It is known that the city of Mariupol, on the shores of the Sea of Azov, has been under attack by Russia for almost two months. Both Ukrainian civilians and military personnel are housed inside the Azovstal plant. Even members of the controversial Azov battalion are in Azovstal. They are the last Ukrainian resistance in Mariupol.
President Zelensky has warned that if Russia occupies the city of Mariupol, negotiations with the Putin regime cannot continue.
