Ukrainian officials say Russia attacked positions in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv on Tuesday night. Authorities also reported power outages after the bombings.

According to Ukrainian authorities, at least four large-scale explosions took place on Tuesday evening on the outskirts of Lviv. The mayor of the city, Andrii Sadovii, urged the population to take shelter and announced that the electricity supply is affected, writes Sky News, according to antena3.ro.

Ukrainian officials, through the head of the Regional Military Command, say that Russia has bombed targets in the city of Lviv

Maksim Koziţki, the head of the regional military command, has confirmed the launch of attacks by the Russian army. “According to preliminary information, there were rocket attacks in the Lviv region,” he was quoted as saying by Ukrinform.

Russian attacks are rare in the region, and for this reason many Ukrainians have taken refuge there from other parts of the country invaded by the Russian army.
