On Monday, June 6, heavy smoke was seen in Donetsk while the authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic reported rocket attacks on the city.
The smoke could be seen rising from a furniture store in the Leninskyi district of Donetsk. Local authorities did not say if anyone was killed.
“Ukrainian troops use weapons transferred from the United States to attack civilians in Donetsk,” Denis Pushilin, the leader of Russia-backed separatists in the Donetsk separatist region, was quoted as saying by Russian state television RIA. Reuters could not independently verify which party was responsible for the bombings.
Putin has previously said that Russia will hit new targets if the West supplies Ukraine with longer-range missiles.
