Ukrainian rescuers recovered the body of a Radio Liberty producer from the rubble of a building in Kyiv that was hit by a rocket on Friday, April 29, the American television station announced.
Radio Liberty said in a statement that Vira Hyrych, who had been working in their Kyiv office since February 2018, was killed after a Russian rocket struck the building where she lived.
Her death was first reported in a rocket attack on Thursday (April 28th) while the head of the United Nations was visiting Kiev. Ukrainian officials say two Russian missiles hit the capital. Russia did not comment on the incident.
At least 10 people were initially reported injured in the attack, but Mayor Vitali Klitschko said a body had been recovered on Friday.
