WhatsApp is in a perpetual process of updating and regularly benefits from new features, some more useful than others. The latest update has been revealed since the beta and has a great chance to help you a lot.
Many of us are members of a WhatsApp group. In 2022, it tends to be almost inevitable that you will not be introduced, with or without your will, to a working group, a community of friends and more. Not infrequently, you want to leave such a group, but avoid the gesture because of the notification that appears in the middle of the screen, visible to all other members. Under normal circumstances, this may not be a huge issue, but in the case of a group of family or friends, your gesture may lead to awkward discussions.
What’s changing in WhatsApp groups
According to an update published by WABetaInfo, in an imminent version of WhatsApp, members of a group will be able to leave that community without making too many waves. Basically, there will be no such notification on the group when you leave it. Instead, only the group administrators or their creators will receive a discreet message.
This way, not everyone will know that you have left the group unless they manually check the list of group members or if the group administrator has made an announcement on the subject. The first features about this feature were made public in April of this year, when Meta detailed their vision for communities on WhatsApp, Communities. That is a mechanism by which you can group several groups into a larger community.
The message that will appear when you leave a group, from the moment the new function will be available globally, is very suggestive. “Only you and the group administrators will be notified that you have left the group”, is the message that will appear in the conversation.
